- There are enough reserves for the system to pay 100% of promised benefits until 2033.
- After that, without reform, reserves will be sufficient to cover only 75% of promised benefits. By 2086, only 73% of promised benefits.

Spousal Benefits
Spousal Benefit: Spouse Still Living
- 50% of your Primary Insurance Amount (PIA) if you started distributions at your FRA (full retirement age)
- Reduced benefit for your spouse if you started early
Survivor Benefit: Spouse Deceased
- If your spouse claims at their FRA or later, their survivor benefit will equal 100% of the original benefit.
- If you claimed before FRA, survivor benefit will be limited to the higher of your spouse’s own benefit or 82.5% of your PIA.
- If your spouse claims before their FRA, their survivor benefit will be a fraction of the original benefit (e.g., 71.5% if claimed at 60).
